When The Enemy Presses In On You-Press in to God!

I’ve noticed that since I have finally decided to step out into what God has called me to do the enemy has tried all kinds of ways to pull me off track.  The ol’ devil tries to kill ministries in their infancy.  He tried to kill the baby Jesus and failed and he will fail in his attempts to destroy me, my ministry or any other part of my life.  Most of my battles have been in my mind.  How many of you have had struggles in your mind?  They can paralyze you.  The devil tried to destroy my ministry once before and I have found that every battle I faced had started in my mind.

This morning I got up thinking about a situation that I knew I could not fix on my own.  I needed an answer to a problem I was facing and was trying to reason it out in my mind (women are real good at that).   That was my first mistake!  Our minds can deceive us.  I finally went to my quiet spot in my house, a small office area I set up in a spare bedroom to spend time with God, I  read my morning devotion  and began seeking  God on my problem.

Through an article I read from Joyce Meyer the light began to come on.  I needed to turn my negative thoughts into positive ones.  The devil hates when you do that.  My next step was to praise God and worship Him.  This really confuses the enemy.  The scripture reference that Joyce used was from II Chronicles 20: 1-23.  Jehoshaphat was being attacked by the armies of the Moabites, Ammonites and the Meunites.  He knew he was out-numbered and did not have the strength to defeat them.  So what did he do?  He sought the Lord for guidance and began to praise Him and worship Him.  God then laid out a plan for Jehoshaphat to defeat his enemies.  The next day when they went out to battle, they began praising and worshipping the Lord.  This confused the enemy so badly that they turned on each other and destroyed themselves.  Jehoshaphat did not have to do anything.

I learned something from this story.  I needed to change the way I was thinking about my situation, praise and worship God the creator, ask Him for direction and know that the battle is the Lord’s not mine.  God will take care of any problem we face and lay out a plan for us to overcome if we allow Him to.

I encourage you to take every battle you face to your heavenly Father.  He has the answer for you.  As you do this, watch the enemy become confused and destroy himself.  Then shout to God with a voice of triumph, shout to God with a voice of praise!!!!!
